Sail Training
Sail training voyages offer an excellent opportunity for personal development or just a great adventure holiday! Whether you are an experienced sailor or a complete novice joining the crew of a tall ship will create an inspiring challenge and a fantastic adventure.
Sail training trips are available for young people (15 to 25 years) and adults. You will be expected to participate in all elements of life on board from cooking and cleaning to sail handling, steering and navigation. No experience is necessary and you can book as a group or individually. Many of the tall ships offer Voyages during the year and some are affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) so you can use your experience to qualify for the Competent Crew certificate and other qualifications.
Tall Ships Races
In 2008 the Tall Ships Race will be starting from Liverpool and will undoutbedly attract visitors from all over the UK. The ships will race to Maloy in Norway and then cruise to Bergen before finishing in Den Helder in the Netherlands on 23 August. Details of places available are listed on our PDF Dowland Voyage List 2008.
As with all Tall Ship Races 50% of the crews must be aged 15 to 25 years. Further information is available from Sail Training International.
